People look around and see, the world you live upon
Where life exists only because of air, earth, water and sun
Around this world a fragile band of rings creates a shield
The layers of the atmosphere protect all life so dear

There’s a ring around the world
That keeps us safe and warm
Protects us from the storm
So children can be born
A ring around the world
That keeps us from the cold
So living things can grow for all time

When astronauts come back to earth, they say their lives have changed
They see the world as one whole earth, no borders man has claimed
They see it as a living thing, all green and blue and brown
Spinning in a Universe so vast no up or down

With all the trials we come upon, there’s nothing that out weights
The gift of life we all can share, with each and every day
Life creates so many things, all miracles to see
The beauty of the natural world, that’s part of you and me
